As a partner at Goldstein Lieberman & Company LLC, Mr. Mills is experienced in all areas of auditing, accounting and taxation methods, procedures and operations. He is an expert in the preparation of corporate financial statements and audit compliance; preparation, review and documentation of business and personal tax returns; and in the development of corporate budgets, projections and forecasts. His workpaper reporting model is an industry benchmark.
Mr. Mills is a seasoned public accounting professional with more than fifteen years experience working with corporate clients and high net-worth individuals. Ben leads the firm's Accounting Standards Task Force, which addresses and interprets pronouncements impacting the financial reporting of organizations.
As a recognized trainer in all facets of accounting and auditing, Mr. Mills is chairman of the firm's Continuing Professional Education Task Force. To that end, he has created a unique series of training courses, which prepare the accounting and auditing staff throughout their professional careers. His innovations have increased the effectiveness and efficiency of employees. In particular, he has streamlined the transfer of knowledge to assist candidates preparing for the CPA exam.
In addition to his compliance services, Mr. Mills also works extensively with clients as a profitability consultant. In this capacity he often works with business owners and management teams in preparing cash flow forecasts and establishing key profit drivers and benchmarks for their organizations. Utilizing the firm's proprietary software, he can quickly identify and implement organizational changes that increase profitability.
A graduate of Fordham University, Ben is a member of Goldstein Lieberman & Company LLC College Relations Steering Committee and works as a liaison to the accounting departments of local colleges and universities. He is licensed to practice in New York and New Jersey and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the New York and New Jersey Societies of Certified Public Accountants. He serves as an executive board member of the Mid Hudson Chapter of the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants and chaired their Young CPA committee, Builders Association of the Hudson Valley Inc., and the Hudson Valley Boy Scouts of America.
Ben lives in Montgomery with his wife, Kourtney and their two children.
